Angelina & Dan’s wedding was my first time visiting Sonshine Barn Wedding and Event Center and, hopefully, not my last!
Their wedding weekend began on Friday night rehearsing the ceremony inside Sonshine’s main barn building. After that, the entire wedding party headed across the driveway to the Farmhouse for dinner and drinks. This beautifully decorated house had a full kitchen, multiple seating areas, and 6 bedrooms (with a bathroom in each one). It had room for almost the entire wedding party to live in for the entire weekend. Right next to the Farmhouse was the Clubhouse. This building is home to not only a kitchen and living area, but an indoor half-court gym. Both the Farmhouse and Clubhouse were included in the rental of the venue.
The wedding day started with the guys getting ready in the Clubhouse while the ladies got their hair and makeup done in the bridal suite located inside the barn. Since the entire day was all happening in one location, we were able to work around the rainy weather to get those important pre-ceremony photographs taken. We could run outside for a few shots, then take a few steps and be right back in the bridal suite.
Unfortunately, due to the weather, the decision was made to move the wedding ceremony inside to the reception area. With the Edison lights and the hanging floral arrangements, the barn was such a romantic place for the couple to say their vows. Guests could enjoy Angelina & Dan tying the knot right from the comfort of their own seat with a drink in hand.
After a few family photographs outside and some heartfelt speeches, a wonderful dinner was served by BJ’s Restaurant & Catering. Once the music started up, the dance floor was packed for the majority of the night. Over the course of the evening, guests could mingle out on the porch or even head up the loft to relax on the couches or get silly in the photo booth.
It’s really hard for me to pick out my favorite part of Angelina & Dan’s wedding weekend. On one hand, Sonshine Barn provided such a magnificent venue for every aspect of the entire weekend. However, Angelina & Dan’s friends and family made it clear how loved the newlyweds are. Looking back on the photos, you can just see on everyone’s faces on how happy and supportive they are of this marriage. So many sentimental moments were created to honor, not only those family members in attendance, but also those whose memories will live on forever.
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Alcock for allowing me to be apart of the start of your marriage.
