Jennifer & Andrew: August 19, 2017. Tawas Wedding

Jennifer & Andrew were married at the beautiful St. John’s Lutheran Church located in Au Gres, Michigan. From the moment I entered the church, there was this overwhelming feeling of warmth and welcome that made my nervousness instantly turn into excitement for the upcoming festivities. Both Pastor Fredrick and his lovely wife were wonderful and made sure everything ran perfectly smooth all weekend long!

One of my favorite parts of the day was Jenni’s first dress. Yes, she had TWO dresses. For the actual ceremony, Jenni decided to wear the dress that both her mother and grandmother wore for their wedding day. I believe that the dress was handmade by her grandmother (Please correct me if I’m wrong!!!) and it was magical. Once the dress on, it had this Grace Kelly elegance mixed with the flair of Scarlett O’Hara’s giant hoop skirt. After the family formals were complete, the family heirloom was put away for safe keeping and Jenni put on her reception dress. Did I mention that she dyed the bottom of the dress pink herself? Very brave, but totally worth it!

After the quick outfit change, the bridal party loaded up the bus and headed out for some fun! Our first location was for photographs with Andrew’s family airplane. Using a real life airplane as a photo prop was definitely a first for me! We then stopped at the family home on the lake for some beach photographs before heading over to the reception.

The new Mr. & Britt, along with their friends and family, transformed the Tawas Community Center from your regular multi purpose gymnasium to an all out formal ballroom. White fabric draped the entire room from top to bottom! Someone had to tell me that there was a bright red mezzanine camouflaged under all of the white.

Overall, I had a wonderful time with Jenni, Andrew, and their family. The entire weekend went so smoothly that I was shocked when 10 pm rolled around. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Oh. Also a canoe randomly appeared at the reception. CANOE BELIEVE IT?
