For Kim & Jake’s July wedding I had the opportunity to photograph a new location- Cherry Creek Golf Club down in Shelby Township. This club is not only home to a beautiful golf course, but a massive, unique venue that that caters to every aspect of an entire wedding day. It was wonderful to have dressing rooms on the lower floor AND a (shaded) ceremony site just a few feet from the dance floor. I was pleasantly surprised!
The first photograph that Kim really wanted was of her dress displayed in natural light. With the help of her bridesmaids, her wedding dress made it up two flights of stairs with ease! Turns out that she is also is rather fond of shoes, so a special photograph of her Kate Spade Keds was a necessity. After the detail shots were completed, Kim and her bridesmaids put on their beautiful gowns and headed upstairs for some family pictures ahead of the ceremony.
Kim & Jake’s ceremony took place out on the golf course overlooking the pond. Since the weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony, no empty seats could be found! As soon the processional was completed, servers and bartenders magically appeared to offer guests appetizers and drinks while they enjoyed the outdoor cocktail hour. Guests were then ushered into the ballroom while we wrapped up the bridal party photographs. The timing was impeccable!
Dinner was a multi-course, family style meal consisting of Caesar salad, giant bowls of pasta, and a chicken and steak main course. While guests enjoyed dessert, the new Mr. & Mrs. snuck away with me for some romantic photographs out on the twilight lit golf course. We did have a bit of an audience, but clearly, it was not a distraction!
I had a wonderful time photographing Mr. & Mrs. Benton’s wedding! I honestly believe that everyone in attendance 100% enjoyed the day as well. When I left around 10:30, the dance floor was still full! Congrats you two!
