For not really being “photo people”, Alicia & Jacob’s session ran fairly long. They came into their engagements with the mindset of having 3 good photographs. After almost a full 2 hours of wandering around Dow Gardens, we ended up with a solid 165. I think picking their 3 favorites turned out to be a lot harder than they anticipated.
Since everyone was checking out the awesome Lego exhibit next door at the Midland Center for the Arts, Dow Gardens was nice and quiet. Combine the calm with the absolutely perfect weather and you get some of the most ideal photography conditions. As we worked our way through the Gardens, we stopped at some of our personal favorite locations for a few poses. I did make the mistake of over-trusting Jacob for bit there. His intentions were to lead us to this big, glorious water fountain. Instead, he took us to a giant parking lot in the middle of nowhere. . .
He eventually found this magical fountain. . .
Alicia & Jacob worked through their slight camera shyness and found their posing grove rather quickly. I’m confident that they will rock out their wedding photographs come late summer!
