Diane & Matt: October 8, 2016. Forest Edge Freeland Wedding

The best weddings are those ones that have a bridal party who loves to have fun! Diane & Matt’s wedding was just an entire day full of laughter and shenanigans (which I may or may not have slightly instigated).

Walking into the Pere Marquette Train Depot in Bay City, I was more excited than my usual nervous. So far my entire day was going great. I slept well, my husband didn’t hijack the bathroom from me, my makeup looked great, and my hair even cooperated.  Magical. However, the moment that really proved that the day was going to be perfect was when Diane looked at herself in her wedding dress for the very first time. There was no nit picking or even a minor freak out, just tears of pure happiness. These tears popped up again as she walked down the aisle and with an emotional Matt eagerly waiting to become husband and wife.

Once the post ceremony obligations were complete, everyone loaded up the party bus from All Night Affair and headed to Tittabawasee Park. Since the weather was decent, we ended up hanging out, taking lots of photographs, and just enjoying the day. Not having to be in a rush to get to the reception or even pressure to head to the bar made the entire experience unique. I highly recommend scheduling extra time to anyone currently planning a wedding!

After a quick stop to Memorial Park, the day continued at Forest Edge of Freeland. Everything was normal during the grand entrance, until Matt had a slight misstep (again!). I don’t mean to call him out, but, not only did he trip over a log at the park, he did the same thing on his way to the head table. I guess out of all of the horrible things that could happen during your wedding day, falling on your face in front of a room of 100 people watching is fairly low on the list.

As dinner wrapped up, before a night full of dancing, we headed out for some night photographs. We happened to make it outside in time to catch some of the beautiful colors provided by a Michigan twilight. Stealing the bride and groom away from their guests may seem slightly rude, however, I find it gives them a minute to mentally take in the day. It all goes so quickly and as one cinematic hero once said:

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” -Ferris Bueller

Congrats Diane & Matt!!!
