Jessica & Mike: Bay City State Park Engagement Session

In honor of 2016 marking my 7th year as a wedding photographer, I will be wrapping up the regular season with 7 blog posts during the month October. Here is my first!

Since they are planning a spring wedding, Jessica & Mike felt it fitting to have their engagement photographs taken in the fall. I may be biased, but fall in Michigan is the best. . .

We started their Bay City State Park session wandering around Marsh, which was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday. I think it had to do with the rainy weather that was looming. Honestly, rainy days are the best for photo sessions. That, combined with the angle of the Earth is what makes this session extra gorgeous (plus the models were pretty awesome). Props to Jessica for hiking through the woods in those shoes! I also do apologize, I didn’t realize you were wearing them until we had already walked all the way to the observation tower!

After a quick outfit change, we continued the session on the trails that run right through the brilliant green foliage in the center of the park. If you ever have visited State Park, you know exactly where I’m talking about! With Jessica & Mike finally warmed up to the camera, we headed down to the water for some photographs in the overgrown grass. It was the perfect way to wrap up a Michigan engagement session!

Stay tuned for Jessica & Mike’s 2017 wedding to be featured on the blog in June.
